pitterpatter
DD will be moving into HOP, First Grade next month and I would like to supplement with ETC. After examining the TOC of each, I think ETC 2 would be a good fit for the first half of HOP, First Grade. However, the blends are not presented in the same order. Would there be any reason I couldn't skip around in ETC 2? I've never seen an ETC book in person.
ByGrace3
We skipped around just using the parts that corresponded where we needed. Don't see any reason why not . . .
Jay3fer
I think it's okay to skip around within one book, just not from book to book. We go linearly, though, straight through, 2 pages a day, cover to cover. :-)
3peasinapod
I don't think there is anything wrong with choosing which blends or whatever in any order you want. The ETC books have about 6 pages of practice for each new rule presented. We do it straight through even though it doesn't match up with OPGTR, but it turns out as a nice review when we get to it in the other resource. KristenR
Yes, I agree that you could make it work by jumping back and forth. I could see how that would work for built in review.
pitterpatter
Thank you...I appreciate it!! Do you think there would be a reason for DD to go back and do 1 or 1-1/2 too? While she still is in the sounding out stage for the most part, she does so pretty easily. I'm not sure they would be very challenging.
