Remudamom
I gave my dil a kindle and we want to know if you can redeem a gift certificate on the kindle or if you need to get on a computer to redeem it. Anyone?
GWOB
It would be easier to redeem it on the computer. I almost always purchase Kindle books on our computer anyway.
mazakaal
My mom got a Kindle with a gift certificate recently. We went on the computer to set up her account, then used some of the gift certificate to buy a case. Since the gift certificate was on her account, all purchases made after that using her Kindle would come off the gift certificate. Once the gift certificate was used up, future purchases would come off the default credit card on her account. I wasn't sure how it all worked, so I spoke with someone at Amazon to confirm all this when I was helping her set up her account. So have your dil make her first purchase on the computer using the gc. Then she can purchase straight off the Kindle after that.
skyday
I just did this for my dad yesterday! He did not have an amazon account so, they had no credit card info on him, though. When we registered his kindle, we had to set up an amazon account and it asked for payment information when he went to order a book. It had an option for gift card information, so we just put that in and he will use all of that up before he has to put in credit card information.
