Mom-ninja.
We have finished FLL 4 and have been slowly working on ALL. I want to switch go ahead and switch to Hake. I'm pretty sure I've decided on Hake.... So, what level should I get level 5 or level 6?
HSMom2One
I'm going to be in the same place, and I've been advised to go with actual grade level. So that is what I will be doing. Blessings, Lucinda
jhschool
Your child might need to know things like "declarative sentence" vs. "exclamatory sentence" vs. "imperative sentence" vs. "interrogative sentence." This is taught in Hake Level 5. The reason you might need to know those terms is, for example, The Potter's School has placement exams for their writing courses and your child needs to know "terms," not just how to write well. They also ask things like "Complex sentences" vs. "Compound sentences" vs. "Complex-compound sentences." I am hoping Hake covers that as well at some point. Check if your child has covered the necessary terms before selecting a grade level for Hake, so you don't have any gaps.
