rgrin
The dry, cold weather here in the PNW is really aggravating my dry, sensitive skin. I start flaking on my hands and face by the end of the day if I don't moisturize mid-day. Now, my scalp is so dry that it's beginning to flake. The hair dryer makes it even worse. I've been doing some deep conditioning treatments and avoiding the hair dryer, and those are beginning to help. But it's so cold, I can't stand to go around with wet hair! Any ideas? Lawana
Consider going no-poo. Depending on the texture of your hair, it's possible to just use very warm water or baking soda or conditioner only, reducing the frequency of "washing". Shampoo really dries out hair and scalp. I used to have losts of dry flakes, but since I gave up shampoo, they've gone away.
KungFuPanda
I'd say drink more water, and wash the night before. If you have curly hair, gather it loosely on top of your head to sleep to save the curls (once they're dried of course). You may even want to investigate what type of good fats you could add to your diet. Also, quit shampoo.
