This is a fun thread! Last week, my youngest lost his tooth on a cruise to Alaska while we were in Canadian waters. There was concern about whether there is a different tooth fairy for the ocean or Canada, or if it would be our usual fairy. The tooth fairy ended up leaving $2 (US) instead of the usual $1, so it's kind of obvious that is was a different tooth fairy than usual. We are still trying to determine if the different fairy was the ocean one or if the Canadian one ran down to the casino to get some money exchanged!
  2. I've had oily, acne-prone skin with rosacea since I was a teenager. After my first son was born, a friend wanted to get into selling Amway. She asked if she could do a skincare analysis on me for practice. She surprised me by saying that my skin was actually dry! As I researched, I discovered that everything I'd been using to fight my teenage acne had wreaked havoc on my skin. They were too harsh. For the past eight years, I've washed and moisturized my skin with plain olive oil, and it has never looked better. That's the only thing I put on my face, not even makeup. I still have a touch of visible rosacea, but not so much that I'm embarrassed to be seen without makeup. If I have to use makeup or sunscreen, I've found Paula's choice to be best. I wear a hat and long-sleeved UPF clothing outside, as I still haven't found a sunscreen that plays well with my skin. I need to add some of that to try in my next PC order! It really is a constant search to find what works. Good luck!
  3. Congratulations, mama! I'm glad the doc was able to remove the cyst without too much "damage". I'm sure you're glad to have your little one in your arms now.
  4. It took me a bit, too, but they did make it pretty easy. Click on the "Community" tab at the top. One of the options within that tab is "Find Members". All you need is someone's username to find them and add as a friend. Hope that helps!
  5. We're ditching the satellite. We've already got Netflix streaming, but don't do the DVDs by mail. We're looking at adding Hulu+ and/or Amazon Prime. But I've read that Prime offers nothing that Netflix doesn't (except for 2-day shipping). Can anyone who has used Hulu+ or Amazon Prime compare or give me your opinion on these these services for me? Thanks!
  6. I could use some fun, support, and motivation from people who are "with me". I also wouldn't mind the accountability of knowing that someone could soon be "checking my work." Though he tries to be encouraging, DH doesn't get it sometimes, and he will NOT look at my log and give me any feedback. I hate opening up my food log and diary and such to strangers (members on the MFP boards), but I feel like I know you all here. If you want to be friends on MFP, you can find me there as rgrin (yes, I'm incredibly original!)
  7. Oh, that's right. This should be in the "He'll House" thread! ;)
  8. The sad part is that the "him" I refer to changes day-by-day, but all three have been guilty (and surprised) on multiple occasions!
  9. ... that the bowls he nested in the dishwasher did NOT come clean? Just like he was surprised last time that the too-tall cup he placed SIDEWAYS in the dishwasher didnt get clean inside! Deep breath. That is all.
  10. This thread is an awesome example of what makes this forum wonderful and unique. That cover, however, is a sad example of the importance of literature in the world today. I'm glad my grandmother never had to lay eyes on that photo on the cover of her most beloved series!
  11. Tuesday - cramps and just tiredness. (I think i need to re-adjust my caloric intake.) My new Fitbit Zip arrived, so I spent the evening playing with it and perusing the website instead of exercising. I've walked 3051 steps though today, and it's not even 3:00 yet. I hope I can do the elliptical tonight, but I don't think my scheduled Pilates is going to fly...
  12. Just now posting for yesterday. Did 14 minutes on the elliptical and inclined the ramp a tiny bit, too! I planned on doing 10 minutes' worth from the Daily Workout app, but got distracted by a sick little one, then fell asleep before I remembered. Oops.
