Cammie
I could use some help finding great books for ds 6. I can usually source them here but I can't seem to figure out which are the really popular books for boys his age. Any insight appreciated! jennsmile
Reading level? Free reading or for school? My 6 yo likes to pick up lots of books from our collection but he isn't reading independently yet. He loves lots of the ones based on disney movies and his My Big Backyard magazine. Cammie
He is a beginning reader - level 1-2 books. This is free reading, for fun reading, bedtime reading. Books for me to read to him would also be fine. My DD is a HUGE reader and will get stacks of books for Christmas, so I also wanted some nice ones for him! jennsmile
Sonlight selections are always great. I am always picking up books but I am not sure which ones my 6 yo reads. Some simple science books with experiments are ones I know he likes I think they are usborne. Spiderman, Cars and Transformers also have simple readers if your son has watched any of those. Magic trick books. He also loves Cats Cradle right now and that might be a fun book by Klutz for your little one. He loves showing off what he can do with string. Stacia
Exploratopia is a very cool book. Would he like things like the Magic Treehouse series, The Littles series, the Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle series, the Flat Stanley series, etc...? My ds always enjoyed the Lego leveled readers when he was learning to read.
Cammie
Thanks! Those lego ones look perfect! We have been reading A to Z Mysteries and Magic Treehouse as well as some Scholastic level readers. I will see if I can get the lego ones here!
