Does anyone have the "with special offers" version (i.e. advertisements for your screen saver)? We like the idea of saving 30 dollars but I'm wondering what kind of ads my son will be viewing on a regular basis and how annoying this turns out to be. What would you do? Paige Posted November 21, 2011 Share Posted November 21, 2011 I have this kindle. The ads, as far as I can remember, are pretty tame. There's nothing worse than what you may find in a regular newspaper. At first, I was disappointed that my DH picked the one with ads, but now I like it. The ads are actually very useful if you buy things at amazon frequently. We've used them several times. I got my dad a Roku with a kindle ad 50% off coupon, we've had ads offering $10 off any $25 purchase, and a few others we've used for things that we'd either be getting anyway.
