How I, an atheist, try to determine right and wrong

Recommended Posts

Perhaps you would enjoy reading C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity. It is an excellent, intellectual read for people who are pondering the kinds of issues of which you write.

Very logical and philosophical. You read it, and you may agree with some, disagree with some--but it sure makes you think. One of my favourite books on religion of all time. (Want to clarify that I mean a general "you".)

sam harris has some fascinating things to say about how not subjective morality can actually be....

he comes down on the side of asking if it leads people to "thrive". he's one the great minds of our time and has made me think. a lot.

Thanks for mentioning Sam Harris. I had heard about him earlier, but had not read anything from him. So I took the time to listen to a couple of talks which I found and he really does have some fascinating things to say about morality.

I enjoyed listening to this TED Talk by Sam Harris very much. A lot of food for thought.
