In The Great White North
Campbell's Biology. I've never seen any other college bio texts recommended, or even discussed, on these boards. Several physics and chem texts, but only one bio.
dirty ethel rackham
Yep. Every bio department we talked to last spring had this as their freshman text.

Upon looking through alot of the High School level texts, dd has covered everything I can see plus some. I need something more for her. regentrude
Campbell's Biology. There is also a somewhat shorter version: Campbell, Reece: Biology-concepts and connections (the "Baby Campbell")

blossom12
We are doing Campbell's Concepts and Connections (Baby Campbell) and let me just tell you it is plenty difficult and will definitely prepare you for Bio SAT and/or AP. It is exceptionally rigorous. Daddy Campbell is beyond intimidating from what I can tell and Concepts and Connections gets the job done. But it is no walk in the park. blossom12
