*********
I did the 'cook two cans of sweetened condensed milk in the crock pot for eight hours on low to make caramel' thing, because I thought it sounded fun. (Technically it's 'dulce de leche', but whatever. It's a thick caramel sauce.) :tongue_smilie: Now I have two cans of caramel (ok, less than two cans, I had to try the stuff, lol). And Meijers had a huge sale yesterday on honeycrisp apples (my favorite!), so now I have nine pounds of those. So besides just slicing the apples and dipping them in the caramel, any recipe ideas I could make with these two things?
AlmiraGulch
Caramel apple pies? I don't have a recipe but I was just looking at some on foodnetwork.com yesterday. Caramel apple bread pudding? Caramel apple bread? Again....sorry I don't have recipes but I've seen them in the last day or two when I, too, went crazy buying Honeycrisps (my fave!), and I like nothing more than caramel and apples together. Yum. How did your caramel turn out, by the way?

And I was thinking caramel apple pie, too. But I don't have a recipe!
laundrycrisis
Since they are honeycrisp apples, I wouldn't do anything to them, because they are perfect as is. I would enjoy the apples in their current state of perfection. And then I would have a big bowl of ice cream with caramel sauce :)

*********
Yes yes ladies, we are eating the apples just as they are. :) But we have nine pounds of them on the kitchen counters, and I wanna make something!
