cave canem
We are aware of write@home, Bravewriter and Landry Academy. Year-long seems to be the norm but doesn't work well with our very disparate schedules for the fall and spring semesters. Thank you in advance for any leads. Corraleno
Lukeion offers a 6-week intensive College Level Research Writing Seminar each semester. It's taught by Regan Barr and although DS hasn't taken this particular course, he took the intensive grammar course last summer, which was fantastic. I was so impressed with it, and DS not only thoroughly enjoyed the course, he retained everything. He's currently taking Lukeion's Greek course and he's done a number of their short-term workshops (4 meetings) and he's loved everything he's done with them. Kareni
I think that one of the Hewitt Homeschooling Lightning Literature programs would also be an option. They are one semester long and Hewitt does have a grading option if you prefer not to do the grading yourself. Regards, Kareni
specialmama
We signed up for 2 writing classes at Time4Writing and were very pleased with them.
Deb in NJ
We've used Write-at-home. They have year long classes, but they also have workshops that last about 8 or 9 weeks. My daughter really enjoyed them and her writing skills improved greatly. Deb
laughing lioness
Some of the theme based books for high school from IEW are great. You don't need the TWSS to use them.
Candid
I'm looking at http://www.writeguide.com/ They have a monthly fee and indicate you can send them something daily to be worked on. If you go this route, you'll need to set the goals and provide learning materials while the write guide folks would do the work of guiding and help in applying your course work. I'm doing SWB's Plan for Writing and thinking of using this in March or April as a intensive for the writing we've been doing all year. cave canem
for all of the information. I didn't know about the Lukeion option at all. I also found out that one of our local cc has some schedule-compatible classes.
