Once Again
Is it possible to have a UTI caused by yeast instead of bacteria? If so, would the urine culture be able to tell if it were?
Scarymelon
Yes, a urine culture (not a basic urinalysis) would show yeast as the organism causing a UTI, but it would be very unusual, and I have not ever seen it on a relatively healthy adult, only on immune compromised patients. ktgrok
however, a yeast infection could irritate the urethra, so it burned when urinating. Not a bladder infection, but just some irritation.
