My dd 6 has just finished etc 4 and I would like for her to have a good review of all the specail sounds etc... I like etc ok but I am worried she is not being challenged with it and is just able to provide the correct answer. I have heard Adventures in phonics is really good so just wanting others thoughts. 3peasinapod Posted October 8, 2011 Share Posted October 8, 2011 We use ETC, now half way through 7, and DD8 has a solid phonics foundation. We also do OPGTR with her, so everything crosses and reviews within both programs. If she needs some more practice on the things you have covered in ETC, how about using the 1/2 series? littlebug42 Posted October 8, 2011 Share Posted October 8, 2011 I much prefer Adventures in Phonics. It is not as much fun but it is thorough. I wouldn't hesitate to use it again. I didn't care for ETC. I guess it just wasn't straightforward enough for me. I also found Adventures in Phonics to be more challenging.
