TraciWA Posted October 7, 2011 Share Posted October 7, 2011 My 2yr ds has had a slight rash above his uhum between his belly button for a little while. I have switched diapers and it is still there. But this morning he woke up with bumps like white heads all over his tummy. Just his tummy area. What do you think it is. Contagious, allergy? If it is this, yes it is contagious if touched or if in water etc with another child or particularly immune compromised adult. If it is this, there is a cream that can be prescribed but when my daughter recently had one, the ped told us that there were too many side effects and recommended that we try putting duct tape on it. We would put the tape on it and leave it until it fell off in a few days and then replace the tape. We continued this until the thing was gone which took 1-2 weeks. I have read stories of others where it lingered for months. The duct tape did not cause her any pain either.
