GypsieFamily
Looking at reinforcing or moving on from (not convinced which, depends what program I find, as either option would be suitable at the moment) fractions, decimals, pre-algebra sort of level with Peter. I want something fairly gently, and maybe self-teaching or at least, minimal parent involvement. I would really like something that is video based or interactive. Videotext Algebra was something I'd considered....any other ideas, or suggestions?

NanceXToo
We use and love Teaching Textbooks. Sounds exactly what you're looking for! (We used it for 5th grade last year, and we're using it for 6th this year).

Chris in VA
Saxon 5/4 and up are written to the student. You can use a matching video component (DIVE is one, and Saxon Teacher, I believe, is another). If you've never used Saxon, give the placement test. GypsieFamily
Thanks, I'll look more closely at Teaching Textbooks. I've looked at Saxon and I just don't think it's him, but Maths Mammoth will be another one to look at. Thanks
Guest
CLE Math or Teaching Textbooks. I have tried all the rest and these two work for my different kids.
nutella08
How about http://www.khanacademy.org/? There's lots of practice exercises (earn points & badges to progress) and watch videos to learn. And it's all free. Definitely worth considering. :001_smile:
