Tiramisu
Busy day today. I'm making dinner now. Italian sausage with peppers and onions. When it's done, will it be safe putting it in the crock pot on low for about 3 hours, or am I better off popping it the fridge to be reheated at dinner time? Thank you in advance, crockpot chefs extraordinaire. :)
TheReader
I'd be fine putting it in the crock pot until dinner, and then eating it. The veggies will continue to soften, so if you don't want that to happen, just put it in the fridge. Otherwise, should be fine.
Lady Florida.
Unless you have a crock pot with a keep warm setting, I'd put it in the fridge. It will cook even on low, and has the potential of getting dried out, or turning everything into mush.
Tiramisu
I just saw that the crock pot does in fact have a keep warm setting. I think I'll keep it on low until I have to run out, since I was careful to leave the peppers on the lightly sauteed side, and then switch it to low. Thank you so much. Dh will thank you, too. :)
