joannqn
I've been sitting on the couch nursing and editing photos for my weekly report post on my blog. Meanwhile, at least 10 dragonflies...make that 11...have run into my window. ETA: Of course, it could be the same one. I don't know. All I know is I keep hearing a little thunk, and some of those times I've looked up in time to see a blue dragonfly fly away in the other direction. ETAA: There's at least three of them flying around the cul-de-sac. Edited September 24, 2011 by joannqn
NanceXToo
Funny you should mention that. Yesterday evening we took the kids to the park and were amazed by the unusual number of dragonflies we saw there. They seemed to be everywhere. We are in Pennsylvania. joannqn
It's weird to hear them hitting the window, but we did get to see a HUGE migration of dragonflies while we were camping a couple of years ago. Apparently, it doesn't happen often there but when it does, it's an amazing sight. There were thousands of them flying around us. It was surreal. Little Nyssa
We also have seen a lot-- one gorgeous turquoise one which was dead so were could examine it closely-- according to Wikipedia it was a Blue Emperor, which are native to Africa & Europe. That could be incorrect of course but the markings were quite striking.
