Jamauk
Does anyone know of an online source for organic/pastured lard? I do not have access to pastured pork (at this time) to render my own. Thanks!
pageta
The big box grocery store I usually shop at has the hydrogenated stuff, which I don't want. I had to find a neighborhood grocery store (independent) and they had it in a tub which is not hydrogenized. As for whether it is pasture raised, I was just happy to find non-hydrogenated. Sometimes you gotta do the best you can do.
Snickerdoodle
I have access to such a thing through our CSA. You can also check out the Eat Wild website to find a farm near you. http://www.eatwild.com/
happygrrl
I dropped by our local butcher and they had lots of leftover fat in their freezer.. they gave it to me for free! Turning it into lard was really, really easy.

Punchie
I dropped by our local butcher and they had lots of leftover fat in their freezer.. they gave it to me for free! Turning it into lard was really, really easy. What is the process for rendering it? I would love to make my own as I have yet to find anything non-hydrogenated.
