solascriptura
Hi, If you were recovering from a major surgery, what kind of meals would you like to receive for you and your family? When I make meals for others, I usually do pasta, but maybe that is getting old? Thanks!
gaillardia
Depends on how generous you want to be. I've had people bring me overload of the following: Roast chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, biscuits, pie, salad. Enormous containers of refried beans, lettuce, tomato, tortilla shells, seasoned beef, cheese, sour cream, etc. Soup of any kind with homemade bread. Lasagna, salad, garlic bread. Pulled chicken, broccoli, pasta salad with chicken and without. I can't remember everything that has been brought to my family over the years when we've had a new baby, illness, surgery, death in the family, etc. It is just as varied as the people.:001_smile: Crockpot of sloppy joe stuff, raw veggies. Everyone always appreciates dessert. Just make sure you get it there on time or before time.;)
solascriptura
Thanks! I think the soup/stew idea is the one i'll go with. And dessert is a given, right? :001_smile:

Starr
After I had surgery the food wasn't so much about me but the family. They were so happy not to worry about meals for a while. It was a real sign of stress since they all cook. Whatever you bring will be appreciated!
