warriormom
The classical school that my son goes to part-time is going to do an assessment of his class to see if they are ready for Saxon 1. If a student is ready for Saxon 1, they will go to 1st grade math for math time. Do you know where I can find the learning objectives for Saxon K so I can review them with him? Any suggestions? I am worried that he would be bored in Saxon K. :glare:
boscopup
They have placement tests on the Saxon website. Really, if he can add and subtract, they'll probably place him in Saxon 1.
Carrie Sue
Our school starts all our kindergarteners in Saxon I. K is sooooooo easy, our kids knew that stuff at age 3 (counting, recognizing numbers in print, knowing how many "three" looks like...all stuff we did playing games with dice and things like that). Dmmetler
If you go to Sonlight's site, you can download the Saxon homeschool placement test and see what's on it. Saxon K is trivial and designed to be fun and hands on. My DD ended up doing Saxon 1 and 2 while her K class was doing K, because the teacher had to keep her busy somehow.
