Tabrett Posted August 11, 2011 Share Posted August 11, 2011 How do you schedule AAP? I am starting book A with a bright 1st grader and a struggling 2nd grader. The are only 66 levels in book A. Is the book to last a year or are you supposed to do 2 books a year? I'm a little worried because the words at the end of the book are rather advanced. freesia Posted August 11, 2011 Share Posted August 11, 2011 I did 1/2 a lesson a day, completing 2 lessons a week. (So, we did it 4x a week.) I think more w/ a struggling second grader would be too much. My goal was to just complete the first book. We did end up starting the second in the spring. It starts off deceptively easy, but at level 15 it becomes a lot of writing. 1 level per week after level 15 is not unreasonable for young ones. When there is dictation we do two sentences and save the next two for the next day. I also add a quick oral drill to the end of each lesson.
