pgr
My DH finally decided to get an iPad. I'd love for it to be more than an expensive toy in our home... :D I've seen a bunch of mixed reviews - what's the Hive's fave app for transfering stuff from word or excel? Also, is there a way to transfer ( safari) bookmarks and/or notes from an iPhone? Finally, can I get it to do laundry? Or serve breakfast in bed? Thank you! ;)
ChrissySC
It may just be terminology, but you can't get office products on an iPad. You would have to user another tablet for office integration. You can get document processing and spreadsheet apps though. Search for those ;)
pgr
I should have clarified - I know you can't get office on iPad; I was under the impression that we could open excel or word documents or transfer info from them to compatible/comparable apps. I have searched and found office hd and documents to go, but no consensus on superiority, hence the posed question. ;)
Shelly in VA
No on the laundry and breakfast in bed, sadly, but if you wait a few years until your kids are older, they'll start to take on some of the laundry load! There seems to be a lot of grumbling involved, but I still find it worthwhile. :thumbup1:
Tracy in Ky
I just bought doc2 hd and so far it is doing well, though I haven't found one yet for excel. I know there are some that will handle excel; I just haven't decided on which one to try.
JumpedIntoTheDeepEndFirst
I thought Apple had a Pages app for the iPad. On a Mac Pages will convert MS Word documents or save as MS Word docs so perhaps it will do the same on an iPad. The same may be true for Numbers and Excel. I would love to use Pages, but there are a couple of troubles with it: 1. It doesn't work in Landscape orientation. 2. It doesn't sync directly with dropbox, though there are a couple ways around that. If they would add Landscape orientation, I would buy it in a second! Perhaps then.
