4kiddies
Can anyone recommend a clean, family friendly campground near Gettysburg? Thank you!
FunnyFarmMom
We stayed at the Gettysburg KOA a few years ago and it was great. We had let our oldest research and pick on the internet, so we drove around several others just to see if we could find something better and give him a hard time about it. Nope! It's a beautiful campground with a nice pool and playground. They even had a little playhouse with old-time dress up clothes in it.

mamatohaleybug
When we went to Gettysburg we stayed at Cunningham Falls State Park in Thurmont, MD. It's 25 miles from Gettysburg, absolutely gorgeous and a lovely campground. Nothing like a KOA, though. Not sure if you are more of a KOA type or a state park/national park type. We avoid KOAs like the plague. http://www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands/western/cunningham.asp
Sue G in PA
Friends of ours stay all summer at Gettysburg Farms. They love it. There is a pool, I know, and a family bonfire pit. I don't know much else except they rave about it.
happypamama
Gettysburg Farm at Outdoor World is really nice -- pool, several playgrounds, mini golf, fishing, animals, etc. Its address is Dover, but it's only about 20 minutes from Gettysburg. http://www.travelingusa.com/gettysburgow/index.html?from_cat=travel%20equipment
*lifeoftheparty*
Caledonia State Park is only 13 miles from Gettysburg. We love this park, it's VERY heavily wooded, lots of trails, nice playground, creek that runs through it AND a pool. We have had DS's birthday in a nice picnic pavilion that is next to the creek, has a fireplace and swing.... It was soooooo peaceful :) This site has nearby campsites listed as well: http://www.stateparks.com/caledonia.html
