itsheresomewhere
DS needs a microscope for science. What brands do you like for kids? He is only elementary age but loves science and if this helps him learn, I am all for it. Thanks
tammyw
We don't have one yet, but after doing some research, I plan to buy one from Home Science Tools.
itsheresomewhere
I have been looking at home science tools. I know what brands are good for college but have no clue on the lower level.
Donna T.
We just got the Home Microscope from Home Science Tools. It is the one that is on sell for $179.00 (with free shipping!). We are very impressed with it. We had read alot of good reviews of it, but it's better than we expected. It's heavy and sturdy. It's very easy to use. The optical quality is very good, the specimans show up brightly and are crystal clear. Ours came with a free Microscope Starter Set that they are still offering. I highly recommend it. http://www.hometrainingtools.com/home-microscope/p/MI-4100STD/

Karen in CO
I have this digital microscope. I love the large display so that everyone can see the same thing at the same time. I also love that I can take pictures of what we see. Here is an example of photos from the microscope of some slides my dd10 made for biology. It is simple enough for the 6yo to use and advanced enough to excite the rest of the family. I purchased the slide making kit and some prepared slides from Home Science tool which really add to the enjoyment of the microscope. Kristiana
We just ordered this one from Amscope.com plus a set of 100 prepared slides (Set E) and the kids have had a ball this week trying it all out.
KristenR
For the price, we LOVE My First LapMicroscope. I got it for my dd when she was really young. It was her 4th birthday gift. It says for ages 11+ on the box but even so she is now (at age 5) able to get things into focus on her own. You can see it in action with my kids here.
