OnTheBrink
I'm about to take dd and a dish of taco dip to a homeschool potluck at a home of someone I don't know to hang out with people I don't know well so dd can socialize. Insane.
amyrjoy
Oh boy! That sounds insane to me, too, lol! How'd it go?
GTJo1996
Stop by the liquor store, buy some rum and a coke, mix it up when you get there, drink it and relax! Then stay there until you can safely drive home without teaching DD how to get a DUI. Although that would count as an educational experience...but not a good one! T'smom
Let us know how it goes! Good for you for stepping out of your comfort zone for your dd!
Kalypso
That would be a nightmare for me. I hope it goes well for you and you leave feeling like you know everyone a little better so the next time will be easier.:grouphug:

OnTheBrink
Surprisingly, it was fun! Thankfully, the adults were able to be inside while the kids swam (two adults sat outside while kids were in the pool). I met some new folks, got a jar of pickled green beans (YUM) from one gal, and two dozen fresh eggs from the hosts. They said they were thinking of doing this again next month, too. Dd hung out with a gal she already knew from music class, and got teased by an "older man" (15 year old boy!). She had a lot of fun, too.
