Probably a silly question, but can someone define for me "Classical Studies?"

I have seen it as a subject on its own at sites such as Memoria Press, but I have never been able to figure out exactly what it was. We are doing a unit on D'Aulaires Greek Myths and the MP site has it listed with their Classical Studies but I have no idea what that means!

Thanks so much!

Classical Studies = the study of Classical mythology, history, literature, etc.

Huh?

Does it mean you use text for the most part?

Maybe living books?

Copywork?

What sort of teaching methods are included in the Classical Method? You can study all of the above in any number of ways, but which way(s) fit Classical? Is Charlotte Mason considered Classical?

You can teach it any way, really. It has more to do with content than method. Having said that, I prefer living books and discussion.
