QueenCat
What magazines do you recommend to supplement one's studies? Right now, we get Popular Science, Discover, and Time.
pmegan
National Geographic is always interesting. Carus Publishers (who do Cobblestone and Cricket) have a few for older teenagers. I haven't seen them, but every magazine they publish that I have seen has been excellent.
merylvdm
World magazine - all the latest news from a Christian perspective. We all love it. Meryl
Nan in Mass
Science News (my favourite) and National Geographic.
Nan in Mass
And I suppose I should include Smithsonian, which my older one loves, and Natural History (think that was the name) which I loved, but which we dropped due to too much reading matter GRIN. percytruffle
Another good choice for science that we subscribe to is Scientific American. The year we studied astronomy I bought several astronomy magazines, but didn't really have a subscription to just one particular magazine. Ds really likes Military History. He has a subscription to that. It is such a "boys who like war" magazine. One more option to go along with the study of American history is Reminisce. I enjoy reading that one too. Our library has it so we don't need to subscribe, but I have considered subscribing in the past.
QueenCat
Scientific American has a nice website. There have been some great suggestions for magazines. Does any one know of any good literary magazines?
Kimm in WA
We get Johns Hopkins Univ. Imagine, through their Center for Talented Youth. We like it - it covers one area of study per issue. My 13yos and 15yo like it. I think you can order back issues to see if you like it before subscribing. Kimm
