MyLittleBears
Just wondering if there is enough instruction in just the student book or do I need to purchase the teacher's manual? Thank you!
zoo_keeper
We've only just started the second workbook (B), but I've never looked at the TM myself.
persephone43
I have the TM and besides an initial glance, I haven't picked it back up. The student book is pretty self explanatory. It shows you at the beginning of the workbook how to form the letters. I dont feel like we have needed it but thats just my personal experience. boscopup
I don't think it's necessary. It's nice to have read through it, so if you have a homeschool store near you that has a consignment section, picking it up to read it through it real quick could be useful, but I don't think you need to worry about it if you don't have access to one. I have it, since I found it at a homeschool consignment store cheap. I haven't opened it since we started the workbooks. :) My oldest is doing book C, and I'm doing the adult book. TracieT
Glad you asked this! I ordered our first workbook yesterday, but thought I'd try it without the teacher's manual and see what happens. This makes me feel better!
gswhitfield21
I bought the teachers manual, but I've only glanced at it a few times. My oldest has basically taught himself the program by reading the instructions in the workbooks. He has done just fine.
nmoira
The thrust is, self-check, self-check, self-check, in an effort to train the kids to evaluate their own handwriting. If you're at a loss as to how to do this, then the TM might come in handy. Otherwise, save your money.
