birchbark
Does anyone have experience with either of these and able to give a recommendation? Look and Cook Usborne First Cookbook
Clear Creek
Nope, I have never seen or used either of those, but I can recommend this one, this one, and this one, if it is of any help to you. Otherwise, here is a :lurk5: for you so maybe the daytime crowd will respond. :001_smile:
stripe
Are you looking for general cooking, independent cooking, baking, ...? Marion Cunningham's Cooking with Children is nice and not all sweets. Kitchen for Kids is mostly sweets. Very "safe" -- the child is never expected to do anything even remotely dangerous. But there are about 5 recipes with raw eggs in them. Williams Sonoma's cookbooks -- I have the one on baking, at least, is pretty good, with nice photos of kids doing things. The recipes in all are pretty good. I checked out Kosher by Design: Kids in the Kitchen once from the library and it seemed to be a reasonably good range of recipes (not just sweets), including, not surprisingly, what one could refer to as "Jewish food" (like noodle kugel). I've read several DK and Usborne cookbooks but they weren't very memorable, enough for me to comment. Honestly I'd try reading some from your library or reading them at a bookstore. Guest
We like Maw Bruin's Cooking Wit' Bairns but that is a decidedly Scots option.
