Aquinas Academy
TC has an extreamly well rated astronomy course. I haven't used it, but I'm hoping to. :)

8filltheheart
My ds is finishing The Cosmos along with TC's Understanding the Universe lectures. He loved the course. Yale has an opencourseware astronomy course that we are considering for next yr. http://oyc.yale.edu/astronomy

Not too over my head at this point ;) and the instructor is very likeable and has a good voice. I've read lots of good reviews from other homeschoolers for this one too. LisaKinVA
Is there (or would there be) a recommended text with the TC series?
Ann@thebeach
Is there (or would there be) a recommended text with the TC series? When you buy the course through them they send you an e-mail with additional resources. I got a huge list of links and a huge list of books-more than 20! I don't know that he suggests one specific book, however, the lecturer has his own book so I suppose that would be good start. http://www.amazon.com/Cosmos-Astronomy-Millennium-AceAstronomy-Virtual/dp/049501303X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1305240807&sr=1-1 You could always e-mail him perhaps and ask for a good spine to suit your needs? 8filltheheart
The Cosmos was co-authored by the lecturing prof.
