If it's Selective Attention Deficit, it's not ADD, right?

Recommended Posts

not necessarily. one of the components of ADD that's often overlooked is the ability to HYPERfocus.

:iagree:

My dd could sit and read for hours, but her grades in school have been circling the drain. We started her on Concerta last month and the difference has been striking. Now I'm kicking myself that we didn't do this 5 years ago.

I have to agree. I myself have been DX with ADHD and I can focus when its something in my area of intrest or if its an activity that is highly stimulating ( cause if you find an activity that matches your "frequency" then you have no problem focusing). Im not sure if that makes sense, but its the best way I can explain it. I was told by the doctor that it is common.
