SonshineLearner
Hey There, I'm trying to figure out what training I want; what's "best", "real"...etc. My son is 7, but I'm interested in this, as the program seems to be a good fit for him... and we have years left to go :) Ideas?? Thanks!! (I'm thinking of online, in person..etc)
Margo out of lurking
Training? No training required for Singapore math. It's very simple and easy to learn. I'm extremely un-mathy and my second child just finished 6B (the last in the Singapore series). The only suggestion I have would be to look at past threads on it for information about practicing and the Intensive Practice workbooks (not usually necessary, imo, although we did use them once or twice over a summer). Dmmetler
I did the ed2go online classes-there are two of them-through my local community college. I did find them very helpful. I did them because I needed continuing ed hours to keep my teaching license up to date, just in case I ever need it again. There were quite a few parents in my learning group, and the instructor was great. There were also a lot of nice downloads and online tools that you can continue to access after the class is over. chiguirre
:iagree: The TM have enough detail to make SM easy to implement, and to be honest, we haven't even needed them.
SonshineLearner
I am using it ;) I just wanted to attend either in person or online... training by a group that is actually familiar with the concepts. I've read the Liping Ma books and such... just want to be in a class ;) :)
