TheAutumnOak
Those who use Spelling Workout - Do you have your child write the definitions to the list words each week?
CarrieF
No, but I am liking that idea! ;)
Annabel Lee
No, but that's a good idea. For my kids right now, I think if they already know what the word means then that is sufficient because they get dictionary & vocabulary practice outside of SWO. If they didn't, I might have them do it for some of the words just for the dictionary practice, esp. to see the different forms 1 word can be used as and how to spell it's tenses. Chris in VA
No. The words are really common and I'm sure my kid knows them all. :001_smile: It seems like busy work to me. Now, we've only been thru level G--maybe they get harder. When you get to the roots, I would make her memorize them.
TheAutumnOak
Thanks you guys... I decided to just keep going without writing them, but to record any words he doesn't know in the spelling section of the notebook...He can just look up the definitions of the ones he is not familiar with...We are doing that with the words we come across that he doesn't know anyway... mcconnellboys
No, but you could make it more of a word study by doing that. There's not really a "work page" for Mondays, so you could do it then....
