Prairie~Phlox
I found this a while back and my family REALLY liked it. http://realmomkitchen.com/4786/overnight-strawberry-and-cream-cheese-baked-waffles/ I make homemade waffles and then freeze extras. I used strawberries, but am going to try apple pie filling next time. The strawberries were good, but dh thought it was a little too "wet" because of the strawberries. But the topping is MMMM....

bookfiend
What is the purpose of baking each side of the waffle first? It seems like covering the whole thing with the egg mixture would negate that step. Sounds wonderfully yummy, just curious if it could be simpler? Prairie~Phlox
I really don't know, you could always e-mail realmomkitchen and ask. I know they were a little crispier when I baked them vs. being limp, but you know homemade waffles are usually more done than store bought, so that may be the difference. *Jessica*
Oooh, I want this right now! Unfortunately my waffle iron broke and I haven't replaced it, which means I have no waffles. I also have no strawberries or cream cheese! lol I guess I'll have to wait, but I will be going shopping tomorrow to pick up a new waffle iron and some strawberries and cream cheese so I can have this by the weekend. Thank you!
