LoveBaby
point me in the direction of some user friendly (aka Mac for dummies) tutorials so I can get this baby doing all that I think it can! Oh...we imported our iTunes library, but Genius isn't working. I've updated it through the store and it *says* it's been updated, but every song I click on it says it doesn't have enough songs for Genius. It is truly amazing, the only thing I'm frustrated with is that I don't know how to do everything intuitively yet. I know I'm going the long way around on some things... They are so pretty, too. Is it a little strange that I just like looking at it?! jelbe5
Congratulations!!!! I have always owned Macs. I suggest you start with the video tutorials on the Apple website! Have fun! Adrianne in IL
Jenny in Atl
It sounds silly, but might work... just exit/quit iTunes and restart. See if that works. If not check out the iTunes help list in the application. Macs are super easy to learn. I honestly have to stop and think (too much) when I have to do work on one of our PCs. :tongue_smilie:
LoveBaby
I've tried quitting/restarting iTunes and it keeps saying the same thing. I think it must have something to do with the way we imported music into it. We have everything backed up on an external harddrive, so I'm tempted to delete everything and start over. It's killing me that I can't listen to music on this thing!! I'm going to step away from it now though, since I'm purging my homeschool shelves and have an ever-lovin' MESS all over my floor. If I get sucked into this thing, we might not get school done again for a month. Spending time on the Mac sure does sound like more fun that contemplating keeping/selling and organizing bookshelves though! gingersmom
There are really helpful Mac forums on the internet. Just google for them, post a question and you will get a ton of answers.
BikeBookBread
There's a WTM social group for Mac users as well. I haven't been in there too much lately, but you might check it out, too. Welcome to the wonderful world of Mac!!!

Not sure what's going on. It won't even let you play the music you've imported? I thought just Genius wasn't working? Another way you can re-load your iTunes is if you have more than one computer? You can use home sharing, load the songs into one computer, then transfer them to another through your iTunes acct. Just trying to problem solve. You could also just import one cd (using a cd, not something you've bought in mp3 form) and see if that is able to play. Computers, it's always interesting! Hope this helps... If you have an Apple store near you, the One-to-One training is SOOOOO worth it! You get an entire year of weekly, hour-long, one-on-one personalized lessons! I learned SO much from those lessons, even though I had to go at 7am to not interfere with our school days. It was my time for me to learn things I loved to do. I highly recommend it, if it's an option for you.
JumpedIntoTheDeepEndFirst
I am fond of the Missing Manual Series. I used Switching to the Mac but you could also go with Snow Leopard. I also have them for a few pieces of software.
knit247
My internet is acting up, so not sure if this link is still valid, but try the PC-to-Mac videos on the Apple site. The link I have is: http://www.apple.com/support/switch101/ I took all of the online tutorials and watched the videos when I got my Mac last summer. So easy & all of it is ver intuitive. The thing I had the most difficulty with was the whole no right-click thing! But now I am 100% used to my iMac and love it! Have fun!
