Just a Jen in Mississippi
Next year, I'd like to be prepared to have my own vegetable garden, but I'm fairly clueless. The whole compost bin thing, raised bed gardening, and all that seem overwhelming and I'm looking for a simple, easy to understand (maybe even beginners) gardening book. Any suggestions? Thanks! RoughCollie
I'd recommend All-New Square Foot Gardening, by Mel Bartholomew. There is quite a bit in there about composting. http://www.amazon.com/All-New-Square-Foot-Gardening/dp/1591862027/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1209607676&sr=8-1 His website: http://www.squarefootgardening.com/
jail warden
I LOVE this book, it's all I've used since we got married almost 11 years ago. It was a wedding gift. It tells you how to plant, how to harvest, some problems and solutions. It gives you compost and organic info. There are very few things I've had to look up in any other source because of how thorough this book is. I have recommended it many times this spring on here and I will contintue. It's the BEST!!!
