wapiti
For any of you who are planning on applying to private high school, does it make any sense to get test-prep materials (practice tests, I guess) a couple years in advance, to see if any of these types of grammar questions will be showing up there, so that they could be incorporated into your teaching plan now? I'm sort of thinking out loud here... It only just occurred to me. (such a test is still 3.5 yrs off for dd9 so I guess we have plenty of time ;)) Edited January 16, 2011 by wapiti
Crimson Wife
My DD is working through an Evan-Moor Daily Paragraph Editing book primarily for standardized test prep. Last year when she took the ITBS, she missed a bunch of capitalization & punctuation questions. She's getting better at finding the errors in the DPE selections so hopefully she'll score higher the next time she takes a standardized test. She's scheduled to do the EXPLORE next week. Laura Corin
I started Calvin on high school entrance test prep over a year in advance. We didn't find it onerous, and it was a good continual review of the work we were doing anyway. He felt very well prepared to take the test and got in with no problem.
