Littlemother
This morning my dd12 asked me if she could make a blog. Would you let a 12 year-old start a blog? She is very mature and responsible. If you would, can you tell me a free way to start a blog.
elfinbaby
I am interested in this as well. My ds loves to write fan fiction about his favorite shows, make silly videos of himself, etc. He's always wanting to post his creations on websites or youtube and we're just not okay with that. I don't know much about blogging and wondered if it were possible to have a private blog. I'm comfortable with him inviting friends/family to view it but not okay with just anybody being able to post comments.
elegantlion
Blogger has settings where you can make the blog private and only invited guests can view it. That would be the way I would go.
ocelotmom
Personally, I'd have no real hesitation about them having a blog, public or private, as long as I was able to read it and they ran posts by me first until I knew they were posting safely and appropriately (ie. no more detail about our family than I'd post on a public blog). It seems like a good way to encourage written expression.
