Kipling
We are having a garage sale this weekend. I can figure out prices for most of the smaller stuff, but what would you expect to pay for these bigger toys? Little Tykes Foldable Kitchen (good condition, comes with accessories) Black and Decker Workbench (very good condition, comes with most accessories) Drop and roar dinosaur with 8-10 balls TIA
Chris in VA
I'd put a higher price at first, so they won't bargain you down to nothing. Little Tikes kitchen--probably $40, might get $25-35 Workbench--$25 other toy--mark it 15, might get 10. That's around here--ymmv!
NanceXToo
Stuff like that, I'd see what they were going for used on places like ebay or Amazon or Craig's List and then maybe make it a bit cheaper than that.
Laurie4b
I'd start with 40-50% of retail if they are in super shape. As a mom who bought loads for my kids at yard sales, I would have been willing to pay that. Those kinds of things tend to go fast. I wouldn't bargain until later in the morning. Garga
I guess I'm a cheap yardsaler. I'd spend about $25 on the kitchen--tops. I'd try to talk you down to $10. I'd spend up to $15 on the workbench, but would try to talk you down to $8. I wouldn't spend more than $3 on the last toy. I can't tell how big it is, but it doesn't look very big. I haggle at yardsales. I usually offer waaaay below what they're asking and then meet in the middle. I guess I'm annoying... But when I have a yardsale, I know that that's they way it goes, and I price my stuff super cheap. I've heard that if you want to really make money off your stuff with no work, take your stuff to a local auction house. A friend of mine did that and made more at the auction house on her stuff than she'd ever made at a yardsale. That's because people go to yardsales with $5 or $10 in their pocket, but they'll go to the auction house with their checkbook and $50 or $100 in their pocket.
