m0mmaBuck
It has changed once again. We have dropped our plans to travel to SC this Fall so, once again, I am mulling things over. DD4 will be doing preschool and kindergarten level work and I feel like I have a handle on what I want there. DS8, however, is a different story. How does this look? Enough? Too much? Math-- CLE 300 (*considering supplementing with Singapore) LA-- Rod and Staff 3 Spelling-- SWO C Penmanship-- Copywork, dictation, use of Draw Write Now to formulate connection between drawing and forming letters History-- SOTW2 w/ AG Science-- a hodgepodge: Fun with Atoms and Molecules, Snap Circuits with Teacher/Student guides, various unit studies as interest arises Latin-- SSL Health-- A Beka and Harcourt Music-- Piano Lessons Art-- Artist studies as arise with SOTW Piano practice is daily, even if just for 5 minutes. Math, LA, Spelling and Penmanship will be 5 days/wk. Latin will probably be 3-4 days/wk. History and Science will alternate days. Health will be 2-3 days/wk. Art rolls in with history. Is this OK? m0mmaBuck
Anything I'm missing? Anything I should drop? I expect it will take us 3-4 hrs/day to get through everything.
robsiew
The only thing I don't see specifically mentioned is literature... maybe you are incorporating that into history or LA? Other than that I think it looks good. Very similar to what I'm doing with my 8 y/o!
m0mmaBuck
Our literature is generally via suggestions from the SOTW AG. I probably need to step it up a bit this year though. Last year he loved reading Jack London and Roald Dahl so we got in a bit of a rut there. Thanks for the reminder!
KathyBC
It looks just right to me.
