rfhsmom
Where we live our kids can play p.s. sports if they pay the $150.00 fee/sport like everyone else. They do offer a need based scholarship program but I am afraid that if we apply for/accept it that we open ourselves up to scrutiny by the school district. What do you think? Am I being too independent? Our kid would be able to play without the scholarship-- we would just need to tighten our belts a bit.

I wouldn't take a scholarship unless you really couldn't afford it.
rfhsmom
Thank you for your advice(this just confirmed what we were thinking) I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being rash. Thanks again for responding--for some reason I do not get much response on here.
Starr
Where we live we don't seem to be "granted" anything from the school district.
Dobela
I wouldn't take a scholarship unless you really couldn't afford it.:iagree: I really know how tough it is sometimes, but if you can pay it, then you may want to do so. There may be another family who needs it more.
wy_kid_wrangler04
I agree with starr. I dont know that you would be accepted. PS does allow what they have to by law but beyond that if they dont want to they will find a reason not to! My dd is also playing sports with the PS, but we will not have any fees until high school! She is just in 7th grade right now.
