AFwife Claire
Someone gave me some winter jackets awhile ago in a big black trash bag. It was a busy time, and I threw the bag into the basement and promptly forgot all about it. So tonight I went down to see what was in there, and . . . the stuff was wet? got wet somehow? I don't really know, because nothing around seems to be wet. Anyhow, the jackets have mold on them. Bleck. Is there any way to get the mold off, or am I better off just ditching them? I've run them all through the washer 2 times, but stuff is still there.
Momling
How about a nice long soak in oxy clean? Or Bac-out? Or bleaching them? I'd do these before tossing them out. The worst thing that happens is that you ruin them (and they sound almost ruined already).
HollyB
I have no idea if this would work, but you could try scrubbing the moldy areas with a stain remover, then wash them in vinegar to kill the mold.
