LG Gone Wild
How do you work this thing? I bought one thinking how wonderful it would be to have spreadable butter. But the butter keeps falling into the water. I use cold water.
The Girls' Mom
I just leave ours out on the counter in a covered dish...butter will keep for a long time with no refrigeration.
Forget-Me-Not
I just leave ours out on the counter in a covered dish...butter will keep for a long time with no refrigeration. Yep me too. I had a butter bell and even though I changed the water frequently, the butter would go rancid/moldy really, really fast.
Diana B
It's just too warm for your butter. You could try putting it into the keeper, than refrigerate the crock right-side up to get the butter cold and hard in the crock. Might help it stay in. I go back and forth between the crock and just a dish. In the summer, I often will just put my butter in a little covered dish and store in the fridge b/c it will get to warm and separate. But you can use the butter that falls in the water, FYI. Might make a bit of a mess, but just pull it out and put it back in the crock. :)
KS_
Mine will drop into the water if it's too warm, but it's so much better than keeping the butter out w/o using one. The butter always went rancid so fast, even in the winter months when it was cooler. I haven't had any problems with the butter bell (besides the occasional butter in the water. . .) LG Gone Wild
I live in SoCal so it's always warm. It's just so annoying to find my butter in the water!!!
