Guest Cheryl in SoCal
What is the easiest way to implement spelling power with a 5th, 4th and 3rd all together? Thanks! You can't do them all together because where a child starts and how fast they move forward depends on the child.
brownie
That's why we're not doing it this year...I found it too time consuming to be quizzing 2 children daily! Brownie
dcjlkplus3
Yeah, you need to test them all individually, but after that 1st five minutes with each of them, they do the rest on their own. The 5th grader may be able to give the test to the 3rd grader (its not hard, but there is a definate way to do it) while you test the 4th grader. coffeegal
Around the table: 'Susan, spell carrots...Bill, spell pie... Candy, spell run... Susan, spell....' Might be noisy, but should be reasonable quick.
5LittleMonkeys
My two oldest give each other the list. Once that is done the checklist is done on their own. The next day they will start with giving the other the words from the day before that they needed to practice and then continuing on with the next list. They do this within earshot of me and I check their books at the end of the day just to make sure they aren't missing tons of words. Easy. ChrisOR
Around the table: 'Susan, spell carrots...Bill, spell pie... Candy, spell run... Susan, spell....' Might be noisy, but should be reasonable quick. This is my plan (for only two children) as recommended by a Spelling Power mom of many.
