parias1126
Is anyone using this curriculum? I am getting ready to order it, but am confused to as to which resources I actually "NEED". Any insight would be greatly appreciated! :D Also, if anyone is using with a 1st and 2nd grader, I would love to hear your feedback! Thanks. wy_kid_wrangler04
I am putting this together for this coming year. I am finding alot of the resources used (but in like new condition) so if money is tight you might want to do that! So far used I got the Guide for $5. I got the outline maps and the CD rom for $
parias1126
I just really need a list of what resources of the list are actually needed. If I don't have to order all of them, I don't want to. Where are you finding the resources used?
JenneinCA
I am using it with my seventh and fifth graders and using Cantering the Country with my first grader. Trail Guide is not really designed for the younger kids. We are going to use a US atlas, the library and some puzzles and games for his first grade. The older kids are going to use an atlas, an almanac and more in depth resources (and the games and puzzles too!)
mathmom
We've been using Trail Guide to World Geography and have found our maps online (http://www.eduplace.com/ss/maps/) and books at the library. Our best online resource find so far has been this site that systematically teaches maps. http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/web_games.htm You can click around the site to find the world maps we are using. In just a week of playing, my 9 year old can place all of the countries of South and Central America on a map without borders drawn in place and type out the names of all the countries. She is working on capitals now.
