Quiver0f10
Anyone have one of these? How many loaves of wheat bread can you make at once? I have an older, regular KA and I can only do 2 loaves at once. http://www.amazon.com/KitchenAid-KP26M1XDP-Professional-6-Quart-Pewter/dp/B0002Y5X8S/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1207854543&sr=1-3 Thanks! Tap
Several reviewers have been very unhappy with it for larger batches/ww flour. I have considered upgrading myself, but am holding out for a better quality mixer.
FriedClams
I got my KA at Sam's and I think it's the 6 quart. It does 2 loaves OK, with having to knead a little by hand on the counter. What is irritating (and may really not be an issue for a large family) is on smaller batches of things the mixer works poorly. For example - making a meringue and using less than 4 whites - ANNOYING - the space between the whisk attachment and the bowl is too big. It's fine in large batches - but the smaller ones are annoying. Overall I love it and would give it a 4 star out of 5 rating. HTH!
amy g.
I have that one, but I don't like using it to make bread. I use a plain stainless steel bowl and a wooden spoon to make 3 loaves at a time.
Quiver0f10
I didn't read the reviews, good point LOL! Thanks for your replies, I am crossing it off the list. :)
