Snowfall
We used and loved Peterson Directed Handwriting for K. Some of it was pre-handwriting stuff we didn't need and didn't use, but we liked the way it taught letter formation, so I went with it again for 1st grade. I ordered the practice copymasters to go with it, but some of them are 3 or more lines long, with each line beginning with a capital letter, even when it's just a continuation of the sentence from the previous line. I'm trying to teach DD proper punctuation and capitalization, so this REALLY grates on my nerves. Not all of the copymasters are like that, but many of them are. I want to use them because that really simplifies things, in that it saves me from coming up with other handwriting practice. OTOH, I don't want to teach her bad habits. What would you do? Diviya
I don't know what copymasters are, but could you "whiteout" the capital letters and replace them with lower case? (I wouldn't use them either - bad for the visual memory!)
buttacol
I think I would just fix them by writing the letter in the correct case, and taping it over the incorrect. Old habits die hard.
truebluexf
I would either correct them or not use them. That would drive me CRAZY!!!
Snowfall
Well, at least I'm not alone in finding that totally screwy and annoying. I guess I'll try to fix it somehow. Why on earth did they do that, though? :glare:
AHASRADA
I would also contact the company immediately with your concerns, and mention that other hsers have felt the same way, and have chosen not to order the copymasters for this reason. I have ordered from Peterson in the past, and they seem like a small, friendly company that would be very responsive to your feedback.
