JennyD
EveryFridaynight!:) Oh my goodness! I had forgotten that we always did this growing up! We never had dessert on other nights, but my brother and I could pick out whatever cookie we wanted at the kosher bakery when my mom got the challah. I must reinstate this tradition immediately. Right now we have fresh fruit for dessert every night, but we really should do something different for Shabbat.
katemary63
No. Dessert is a "special occasion" treat at our house... :iagree:
Diane in CO
Dessert is a regular occurrence in our house, however it isn't always something sweet. Sometimes the boys will want a bowl of cheerios for dessert or an extra helping of "their unhealthy side" after lunch (at lunch we usually have a sandwich, fruit/veggie and then as my 9 year old calls it...an unhealthy side...chips, cheese crackers, pretzels). We all have big sweet tooths over here, so there is always something on hand.
Mom0012
We don't have dessert, but my kids get one "treat" or sweet thing a day. They almost always have it in the evening. It is usually a brownie, a cookie, a few pieces of candy, kettle corn, or something like that. More often than I like, it winds up being candy but I'm trying to back away from that and maybe only have candy once or twice a week.
