Leonor
Did you use this after trigonometry-- in lieu of calculus? Please share your experience. Thanks.
Tardis Girl
Have you talked to the author about this sequence? I'm sorry I can't give you firsthand experience with you on this, but when I contacted him about Advanced Algebra, Trig, Calc questions, he was very friendly and approachable. Just a thought.... http://www.stanleyschmidt.com/contactme.htm
SusanAR
We haven't used it yet, but I have purchased it for next year. Ds finished precal (ChalkDust). He may be taking MUS calculus also-I'm still trying to decide. I plan to work through it in July. I take the month of June off before preparing for the following year. It has answers, but no solutions-YUK.
Tardis Girl
FWIW: The LoF author lists this as the order in studying these subjects (found on pg 11 of Advanced Algebra). "After learning arithmetic, the steps are [taken in this order]" LoF: Beginning Algebra LoF: Advanced Algebra LoF: Geometry LoF: Trigonometry LoF: Calculus LoF: Statistics LoF: Linear Algebra (Statistics may be taken before Calculus.)" Julie of KY
On the LOF website, if you click on the statistic's book sample and read the intro, it says that the only prerequisite for the book is knowing a little algebra. I own the book and I think it might be intimidating to younger students, but I see no reason why you couldn't do it after trig if you wanted.
