kalanamak
The blinds in my house are not metal, but a white, lightly textured fake wood (fake wood grain). They look wonderful but were dusty. I spent quite a bit of time dusting and washing each and every one (house had renters who didn't clean). I'm realizing that they are dust gatherers. Does one use a feather duster and let it all settle again, hopefully mostly on the floor, and then vacuum. Is that a vacuum attachment that isn't all infomercial hype? What do you use. Thanks
Mejane
I have wood blinds. I just use the little brush attachment for my regular vacuum. Do one side, flip and do the other side. It seems to work fine.

*Jessica*
I don't. I have a feeling that's the wrong answer, though! Actually, I do clean them once or twice a year. I use a wet rag and clean them thoroughly. It takes forever to finish. Since many of our windows downstairs are painted shut and very old, I'm considering leaving the winterizing plastic on so I don't have to clean them at all. Isn't that awful?
StephanieZ
When I had plastic miniblinds, I used to take them down (easy to do) and wash them with dish soap and a sponge in my bath tub every year or two. Gross, but it worked great and actually got them clean. Getting them wet didn't seem to hurt anything. Just have to clean the tub when you are done!
